Basic Structure for Workers:

Paid staff always have job security in  that we will Always have more work to do than volunteers are willing to  do, and we will always have a paid Vollunteer Coordinator, or a Task  Based "Initiator" at all times to ensure that work is moving forward.

Primary Paid Staff:

• There will Always be at least 1 Paid Worker/Volunteer Coordinator type Position:
  • For Task based Real-Time Sessions this would be considred the "Initiator"
  • That means for Every Call, Session or other event, we will Always have at least a Paid Initiator.
    • The primary role of the intiitator is to make sure everyone who is supposted to be on the call, makes it on, and the call starts (hopefully ontime)
    • This would typically be 5-15 minutes before a call even starts, and lasts about 5-15 minutes into the begining of a call to make sure everything gets started well.  If we can't fill all the positions necessary, then the Initaitor positions turns into Note Taking, Time keeping, Stack taking, and other call support.
    • The next top important paid position is the Follow UP/ Doccumentations Support.  After a call there is follow Up to doccument the outcomes of the meeting.
    • So typically you would always have 1 paid position and a back up for each individual conference call or session from 5-15 minutes before the call starts, to 5-15 minutes after the call ends for wrap up.  It is also possible to have a seperate initiator
      • Also we Always have at least 1 back up staff for all calls, sessions, and events.
        
        
        
        
• If you are paid your Boss: Is anyone who is making less money than you, as well as "Supervisors" etc... (volunteers have the most decision-making power in the network)
  • With normal jobs the person who makes more money than you is more powerful, in our structure it is reversed.
    
    

This means that someone who makes less money than you can technically "fire" you, in other words we acept the lowest bidder able to do the work.  This is because we are one step above a volunteer only organization, which we used to be until recently.
